The Online Teacher Certificate 2.0 (2021-2022) is an advanced training program and support system designed to increase a GPC’s capacity to design and deliver online classes to further develop their grant careers and businesses.

For the foreseeable future, webinars and Zoom meetings will be the way today’s workforce gets trained. GPCs trained as new or improved online teachers have a unique opportunity to integrate GPCI competencies into multiple entry-level workforce development funnels that puts many of the 10 million jobless Americans back to work in higher-paying jobs with U.S. nonprofits, schools and colleges, local government agencies, hospitals and even regional innovation hubs without requiring years of education. Many also team-teach classes such as the advanced-level GPC Exam Prep online class. 

The overall value of the 2021-2022 Online Teacher Certificate 2.0 is more than $7,988. However, when you sign up during the special enrollment, you can get $500 off, so the cost is only $997. The 1-time payment also saves you 25% off the payment plan.

The payment plan is 12 easy monthly payments of $109. You pay $109 when you enroll. Then, you pay 11 more easy monthly payments of $109.

The monthly advanced training webinars will require 1 hour of your time per month. They take place on the first Tuesday of the month for 12 months. That's 12 hours required.

The question, then, is how much more time do you have and want to give? We will work with you and whatever your schedule might look like. 

The additional time you will have and want to give often depends on the number of interns you supervise, number of classes you design and number of classes you teach.

For example, say you decide you want to work 10 hours in October supervising 2 interns. You participate in the monthly intern call (1 hour) at the beginning of the month (or watch the replay recording). You schedule 9 hours total spread out over 4 weeks with your two interns at times that work for you and the interns you supervise. 

An application to the Grant Professional Certification Institute (GPCI) is being prepared for submission for consideration as an approved Accepted Education Program for a total of 10 GPCI Education Points for the advanced training.

Students who successfully complete a 30-hour Grant Pro 101 online course will be eligible to participate in an internship.

Interns typically sign up for a 30-hour work-based learning experience within a 30-day period. They apply what they learned in the online classroom on-the-job. Each intern submits an Internship Learning Plan (ILP), attends the monthly intern/supervisor meeting at the beginning of the month and goes to work. 

Interns earn $20/hour and are paid half up front and the balance when the final deliverable is... delivered.

Faculty who supervise their intern(s) typically spend one hour in a monthly intern/supervisor meeting the first week of the month and schedule up to 5 hours one-on-one at an agreed-upon schedule.

Like interns, faculty are paid half up front and the balance when the final deliverable is... delivered. Faculty pay is typically $250-$300 per intern or $40/hour.

On the first Tuesday of each month starting in July 2021 at 12 pm Pacific (3 pm Eastern) through June 2022, join a cohort of your GPC colleagues for advanced training and learning "best practices" that are timely and relevant. Training topics will be selected by GPCs enrolled. Some suggested topics to-date include:

• Strategies for GPCI competency integration
• Mentoring/supervising interns
• Scenario-based learning
• Translating off-line to on-line classes
• Strength-Based teaching and learning
• Setting/measuring teacher/learner outcomes
• GPC panel discussions

If you are unable to attend the session, the replay recordings will be available within 24-48 hours of the "live" events.

You'll experience what is called "the apprenticeship of observation" (Dan Lortie, Schoolteacher, 2002, p. 61) that most online faculty have never experienced. You'll observe and even co-teach with GPCs with online teaching experience.

You may even co-teach the GPC Exam Prep online class with approved curriculum and lesson plans. 

You'll get checklists and step-by-step instructions to teach your first class successfully!

Progress at your own pace. Ask for help when you need it.

The Grants Academy is in the process of submitting an application to be reviewed and approved under the GPCI Accepted Education Program. GPCI, itself, was accredited in 2019, even though the first GPC exam was offered as early as 2007.

Earlier in 2001, the University and Community College System of Nevada, which was accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, approved a 10-credit college grant certification designed by Grants Academy faculty. Once the GPC exam was available (2007), Nevada faculty pivoted to use the GPC exam as an independent 3rd party assessment of grant competence.

There is no specific online teacher program accreditation process at this time, as far as we know. If we become aware of a credible accreditation body that benefits our learners and faculty, we will definitely consider applying to be accredited in the near future.

For now, we support the GPCI accreditation and accrediting process of universities that offer our online classes.

Here are five things you can do with your certificate:

• First, add it as a certificate to your LinkedIn profile as soon as you enroll. In fact, the first step in the "onboarding" process is to do just that!
• Second, us it in your marketing of the online classes you teach.
• Third, showcase it on Guruface.com and on the faculty page of the Grants Academy.
• Fourth, add it to the signature on your emails.
• Fifth, add it to your business website.

This is a short list of five things you can do with your certificate very quickly. Be creative. There are no limits to creative ways to use the certificate to support you in moving forward as an online teacher.

Sure! Through the Grants Academy, you will be invited to co-teach any GPC Exam Prep online class offered, which already has the curriculum developed. Next class is Sept 29 - Nov 17. You will also be invited to supervise interns.

Absolutely! You will be able to create your own entry-level "live" and "evergreen" classes and free webinars using the Guruface.com platform or other platform of your preference.

First, you'll be responsible for attending the monthly advanced training sessions on the first Tuesday of the month, starting in July. Or, if you're unable to attend "live", you're responsible for watching the replay.

Second, if you want up to 10 professional development hours towards recertification, you will be responsible for keeping and turning in some forms so we can verify your participation, as well as fulfill any GPCI requirements.

Third, if you're involved in any co-teaching such as the GPC Exam Prep online class, you'll be responsible for attending (or watching the replays) short "logistics" meetings with your co-teachers.
